This is another Paintshop painting, this time of Mika, based on a screenshot I took from a youtube of Mika performing ' pick Up Off The Floor' on Jools Holland - amazing performance.

Well, it's entirely freehand if that's what you mean. What I do is look at another picture (like a landscape artist might look at a landscape while painting) and build up layers. I start with solid colours (pink skin, black and brown hair) and then just add darker and darker or lighter and lighter shades. :)

Thank you! I'm still only learning, but I've always been good with mixing colours, and once the shapes are right that's all I need to do. :)

And yeah, I looked at your page and recognised your Lady Jane picture :D I'm gonna go have a peek at your work now :D

I've never done any of this photoshop stuff or whatever programme you use. I hit a brick walla when it comes to things like those xD

Jasc Paintshop Pro. Couldn't use photoshop if I tried. I literally only started a couple months back - if you look through my gallery it's easy to see my earlier stuff was just experimenting with styles and colours. Things like my boat [link] are closer to what I can do now.
